Difficult choices

“You are not the victim of the world, but rather the master of your own destiny. It is your choices and decisions that determine your destiny.” — Roy T. Bennett

It's human nature to curse one's fate and walk around moping. Many of us would prefer if the decision making is taken out of our hands. But then you don't own what comes next. Should we not fight for ourselves? We have the capacity of rational thinking but at the most singular moment, most of us freeze; a kind of "Amygdala hijack".

Yes, the fear is "what if this is the wrong decision?"; after all, we don't have the gift of hindsight. So here's my two cents (for whatever it's worth) - make the choice that feels most right to you. Life is too short for us to stop our everyday out of fear.

Complacency is comfortable and the disturbance of status quo is not. But what if I told you that there might be a happier future on the other side? That you might be surprised every day with something rewarding that you never thought would happen to you?

Haven't you ever wondered "what if.....?" If yes, then make a choice that is completely the opposite of what you would normally do. Sure it takes a lot of courage but the rewards might just be worth it.

You should never think of yourself as a victim; think of it as a sign to enrich your life and those around you.
